Interesting indeed, although I've never seen this

So far I haven't noticed the Eclipse based Client (or Designer, for that matter) being slowed down by the progress bar. Like Carl, I'd assume that the phenomenon must have something to do with specific hardware or drivers being used. Could the display driver be causing this behaviour?

P.S. -- For the records: The Eclipse based Client is usually referred to as 'Standard', while its non-Eclipse based counterpart is named 'Basic'.
